Facebook: Fighting Engagement Bait That Takes Advantage of News Feed

The giant social media network Facebook continue to introduced new improvement to their platform and has declared to start going against any enticement posts that distracting and encourage users on their social network messenger with likes, share, comments post and other action like spammy  method on Facebook.
 Facebook users dislike spammed posts and some of these spammy content for instance, “LIKE this if you are Aries!” or posts that are the tactic known as “engagement bait” and the network has enforced new guidelines to combat such posts and demoting them from individual, and business pages posts that use engagement them to take advantage of Facebook News Feeds algorithm by boosting their own engagement in order to get greater reach.

So, Facebook is implementing stricter demotion to start rolling out some of these pages that systematically and repeatedly using engagement bait to artificially gain their reach in the News Feed. The changes in gradually taking effect as in order to give time to publisher and individuals to avoid inadvertently using engagement bait in their posts.  This is mean if you are someone using a post that enticing and distracting people to share, likes and comments as “engagement bait” in order to grow your Facebook page or business, Facebook will start detecting them.

Facebook teams have also reviewed and categorized hundreds of thousands of posts to inform a machine learning model to help foster more authentic engagement, and detect different types of more engagement bait out on their social network service. The tactic will enable to flush out and show less engagement post in the News Feed.

Any posts that asking people for help, advice, or recommendation, or raising money, or asking for travel tips or such as circulating a missing child report will not be adversely impacted by this update. Instead, spreading of spammy posts like sensational, misleading content  will be reduce in order to promote meaningful and authentic conversation on Facebook social network.
